Obama Takes Home The Gold

No... this is not a serious post... it's just in "good" fun. This was an email I received today.

First the Nobel Peace Prize and now all of this! Has there ever been anyone so deserving

News Flash:

Obama has just won the Heisman Trophy Award after watching a college football game.

Obama has been named Country Music Entertainer of the Year!!!

Surprise Selection Shocks Nashville

NASHVILLE - President Barack Obama stunned the country music world today by picking up its highest honor, Country Music Entertainer of the Year.

Mr. Obama was chosen unanimously, according to the Country Music Association, beating out such favorite as Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.

In Nashville , country music insiders were shocked by Mr. Obama's selection, given that he has only been in office for eight months and during that time has yet to record a single country song.

But Mr. Obama was gracious in receiving the honor, saying that he was "honored and humbled" by the award before excusing himself to accept this year's Heisman Trophy.

I have just received word that Obama has just won the Stanley Cup after attending Disney’s Little Mermaid on ice.

As Obama was driving to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize, he accidentally won the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Obama threw 984 touchdowns and rushed for 3.8 brazillian yards, leading the Kenyan Unicorns to their first Super Bowl victory.  Well done, Captain Awesome.

While you were getting a cup of coffee, Obama won the Tour de France.

In a stunning development, Obama has been named Grand Imperial Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes in Peckerwood, Mississippi.

Hey... if I can laugh at George W. Bush jokes... Obama supporters can certainly laugh at Obama Jokes !!

The Little Soldier Girl

From Article above

Little Soldier Girl "Didn't Want to Let Go"

Four-year old Paige didn't want to say goodbye to her daddy before he was shipped off to Iraq.

A family photo that shows a little girl beside her father and his fellow soldiers in uniform as they prepare to go to war has resonated well beyond the tight knit Bennethum clan.

Four-year-old Paige Bennethum really, really didn't want her daddy to go to Iraq.

So much so, that when Army Reservist Staff Sgt. Brett Bennethum lined up in formation at his deployment this July, she couldn't let go.

No one had the heart to pull her away.
I don't have a political comment to make regarding this article... nor any grand agenda for posting the picture. It just tugs at me when I see small children trying to be strong when they can't understand the possible consequences of a parent going off to war. For this child and many others it's just a matter of missing mom or dad and not knowing when they will be seen again.

Time flies for us... for adults... but for children it drags on and on into forever and nothing makes it go faster. It's being stuck in quicksand with the horrors of sinking always looming but never happening. That ever present threat of something wonderful or horrible happening and then feeling like your whole body is being torn apart with anticipation. Telling a child she won't see her father for a year is like telling an adult they won't see them for ten years. It just seems so far away... so distant and daunting.

Adults know what could happen when a soldier is shipped off... we don't tell our children... we keep it inside and lock it away in an impenetrable vault when they are around. But late at night when we watch them sleep with dreams of being reunited, we cry at the thought of bringing the bad news and then living with the guilt of not being able to make those dreams come true.
No, I have not had to live this nightmare but it doesn't take living it to touch on the despair is could bring. My son is still at Basic Training and I await his return calmly. I try not to think of what could happen one day in the future... but I can touch upon the despair and it destroys me.

Conservative Actors - This List Grows Longer

Here are some past conservative actor posts by Bug.

Snooping around the Internet I found a few sites compiling lists of conservative actors, entertainers, rock stars, etc. There are some very interesting people on these lists. Some are considered to be conservative based on groups or organizations they belong to while others have stated they are conservative. Some of the lists I found were simply showing Republicans... but not all Republicans are conservative so you have to look into what the person does, not just their political affiliation.

1. Forum listing out conservative celebrities (some examples below... the list is long). Looking into this post further, many of the entertainers named are Republican... not necessarily conservative.

  • Ricky Schroeder
  • Tom Selleck
  • Denzel Washington
  • Tom Clancy
  • Tony Danza
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar (Prince, now)
  • Kelsey Grammar
  • Travis Tritt
  • Chuck Norris
2. Hollywood Politics has a list of what they call patriotic actors (not necessarily conservative). I do not know what this site's requirements are for an actor to make this list. Examples below.

    • Sample of one of his posts regarding Obama: " Nothing from nothing leaves nothing"... That sums up the " Golden Boy" of the Democratic Party... Barack Obama... Obama has been annointed the Savior of the Democratic Party... But what has he done or said?... NOTHING... Until the Democratic Convention of 2004 when you mentioned the name Barack Obama... people thought you talking about Osama Bin Laden... Obama doesn't seem to be a bad guy...but there's nothing of substance in anything he's said or done ... maybe that's what so appealing about him to so many people ... he's managed to say a lot of nothing...

3. The PasadenaClosetConservative had a post recently that listed out actors and why they are considered conservative.

4. And I have to say "wow" because on the first page of my Google hit for conservative actors I found one of my own posts. It is still a big way that people find this blog.

5. Voight: Turned conservative after Marxist Left Caused and Ignored Vietnam/Cambodia Slaughter (June 10, 2009)

  • BECK: You've got to be taking heat. Are you ever going to work again?
VOIGHT: Well, someone said on a program on CNN that it would be a miracle if I worked again. And, of course, look, if the Hollywood crowd wants to go back to the '50s, if they haven't learned a lesson and they want to blacklist somebody, well, that's what will happen. But my losing a job is not so important. I can take care of myself pretty good and I'll be okay. But I'm concerned about the millions of people who will lose jobs, who are losing jobs, who have children, and they need those jobs to feed their families. Listen, it’s a serious time. So I'm not so worried about myself.
BECK: You were, first of all, do you think it was a coincidence that you were blown up at the end of 24?
    VOIGHT, LAUGHING: Talk about prophecy.

6. And the actor I just recently found on Twitter... Scott Baio

WOW - Apparently thinking nice thoughts gets you the Nobel Peace Prize

Okay… seriously? They had to receive nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize by February 1st… 12 days after BO took office. They sent out the solicitation for the nominations two months before he was even elected which means some people nominated him without even knowing if he would be president OR they nominated him with less than 12 days into his four year term.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/10/09/nobel.peace.prize/index.html: As the news of Obama's win broke online, postings on social network sites Twitter and Facebook expressed surprise. Many started with the word: Wow.

I can see that… I think I may start mine with WOW and then follow up with “what a bunch of dumb ass retards nominating a man who hasn’t even done anything yet. Wanting to do something great and actually DOING it are two completely different things. I WANT to be a famous author… ain’t gonna happen less’n I write some’tin great.”

I’m just say’n.
... and who else has been given the award? GO HERE!
So, why isn't Ronald Reagan on that list but Al Gore and Jimmy Carter are? Hmmm... I wonder.

Another Black Conservative: Say What? Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize??????
May we each take the moment necessary out of this day and any day we feel the need to remember those who have gone before us in defense of our freedoms. Without them... we would not be "here"... we would be in chains. ~Bug~
