Typical anti-American tool at NBC. Chris Collinsworth had a brief segment with
Kobe Bryant of Team U.S.A. about what the Olympic games mean to him this year.
Chris asked him about what it felt like when he first got his U.S.A. uniform,
and Kobe begins to talk about what an honor it was for him [...]

Watch the actual interview here: Kobe - A Very Proud American!!
Collinsworth (less): Tell the story when you first got your USA uniform.
Kobe: Well I had goosebumps and I actually just looked at it for awhile. I just held it there and I laid it across my bed and I just stared at it for a few minutes; just because as a kid growing up this is the ultimate, ultimate in basketball.
Collinsworth (less): Where does the patriotism come from inside of you? Historically, what is it?
Kobe: Well, you know it’s just our country, it’s… we believe is the greatest country in the world. It has given us so many great opportunities, and it’s just a sense of pride that you have; that you say ‘You know what? Our country is the best!’
Collinsworth (less): Is that a ‘cool’ thing to say, in this day and age? That you love your country, and that you’re fighting for the red, white and blue? It seems sort of like a day gone by.
Kobe: No, it’s a cool thing for me to say. I feel great about it, and I’m not ashamed to say it. I mean, this is a tremendous honor.
So the question actually is... why is Chris Collinsworth-LESS living in a country that he clearly feels shame over? Watching this video, you can see Kobe's lips begin to purse during the "is that a cool thing to say" question.
Kobe's comment was that as a kid growing up this was the ultimate in basketball... in other words, he's dreamed of this moment his whole life and Mr. Worthless is sweeping away at his dreams like it's a spiderweb in the way of the quest to get rid of all patriotism.
I actually watched this interview on TV myself (thank god for DVR) and the rest of it was pretty civil... Chris let Kobe's patriotism be what it was and Kobe let down his guard once Chris went on to other things. After the interview was over, the station took us back to the main seat at the Olympics where he said something to the affect (not an exact quote) that it was nice to be around all of the youngsters who were in the same realm as Kobe. I'm not sure what that meant... did he therefore actually AGREE with Kobe's statement or was he just trying to make himself look good after hearing his own interview.
If he actually does want to make Americans ashamed of feeling pride in their country or if it's his goal to make it UNCOOL to be a proud American, then I would have to say that Chris Collinsworth-LESS is not a man... he is not an American... and, no matter what his intentions were, he is not even considerate of another person's dreams. All Chris thinks about is the next question wherein he can damage a great career and somehow prove that being a proud American is shameful. Mr. Worthless should be ashamed and just wash away into the Earth where maybe his biological contributions to dirt will be more helpful.
